Memo from Chine December 11th 1994 (96)
You got here From the Wrecking Yard Don't concern yourself with the dates, they'll all come together eventually.

"Hi, I'm Chine, the keeper of Samjas's yesterdays."

Smiling, "Really, that's my job title! Maybe they were just kidding when they told me that. It has a much better sound than secretary doesn't it? I don't fit the secretary profile anyway, but gotta start someplace. The pay is good and the people are great."

Chine continues speaking as she gets the coffee maker going.

"Link asked me to put the Future-Link back story here, but I am hesitant to do so. I am aware that this is his first novel, a real life story written to look like fiction, and he has just begun. I am thinking that there may be good reason not to put it up for the world to see just yet, not without an agent anyway."

Still smiling & pouring her coffee Chine continues, "But, I put it up anyway. However, you will need to get the location from me in order to read it!"

Chuckling now, "I know this seems nuts, but keep in mind that Samjas has given me a lot of responsibility with this job, even though it is only part time. Can you imagine, they asked me to watch over Link as he writes this novel! S'cuse me? He hasn't written anything for at least six years! All that plus running this office! My mom calls me a workaholic."

Chine pauses for a sip of coffee; Mexican organic, cream and raw brown sugar, thinking; Samjas sure knows how to make good coffee.

"Okay, if you want to read the Future-Link back story and find out what this is all about, email me, mention back story, and I will tell you where to find it. Love you, have a great day. Got to get to class!" (Note: The back story may have been deleted over the past six years or so & Ma-chine no longer has a working email address.)

"My name?" A big smile opens her mouth as she tells us, " Ma-Chine. Yes this is what my mother named me. And yes legally. She was an artistic hippy welder sculptress drummer yogi vegetarian dreamer lover enchantress among many other visually descriptive descriptions. She has matured somewhat but looks 20 years younger than she actually is. Anna, a very cool lady."
