I would like to offer this page to any artists with a
disability. The degree of impairment is not measurable in the sense that
it makes you less or more of an artist, but the dedication, perseverance
and the tremendous amount of work and time it takes to develop your
skill certainly needs to be expressed and acknowledged.
The damaged body needs the mind to help stay healthy,
and the mind needs purpose, or in my case, creativity to continue to
grow and provide the nutrients for a happy and fulfilling life. This is
difficult enough for able-bodied individuals, but becomes a real
challenge for the impaired.
I have lived with my paralysis for over thirty years
and have accomplished more than a lot of people I have known during that
time. It's not a comparison, merely a burning desire to express myself
in every way possible. I continually find new avenues for personal
development and have come to the conclusion that life is way too short
to waste even for a single minute. I know many of you feel the same way,
and I would love to celebrate in your achievements as well. - - - Chazz

Chazz's new CD
Recovery is without a doubt some of his finest song writing in well
over 20 years. His decision to write, sing and record again shows
that is never too late to create, as long as the passion still
burns, and the fire is red hot with Recovery. He started writing
Recovery in October 2006, and it is due for release in February of
2008.The album features
13 new songs with strong band tracks and blatantly honest lyrics.
His inspiration is drawn from the period of his life when a tragic
spinal chord injury cut short his career in music, but then offered
new, and in some ways, far more fulfilling avenues for happiness.
Although a
considerable amount of time has passed since that eventful day, and
he has continued to write music since then, he always avoided
singing and writing about those days. Days when the possibility of
an unhappy ending were all too real.
The songs are
uplifting and inspirational, and although some depict the struggle
and perseverance it takes to climb up and out of a dark place, it
also delivers the hope and peace that's offered by the mere act of
continually pushing forward and never giving up.
The CD features many
artists that Chazz had performed with in his past, as well as new
musicians and
singers to enhance and complete this project. The tunes are
reminiscent of the 70's with solid band tracks and lots of vocal
harmonies, Included on the CD is his new EBook The Fire Within.
